Thank you for all of your love and your prayers. The swelling in Bruce's neck and face is going down slightly. You can now tell that he has a chin. He has a low grade fever ranging from 100 to 102 degrees. They have done many cultures and everything has come back clean. We are looking forward to tomorrow. He may be able to have the respirator taken out. Today he was breathing 100% on his own with just a little air flow to keep the airway clear. We are hoping on Wednesday that he will get his halo put on. The front of the spinal chord controls our movement. So, that could be why he is still not able to move his legs or feet. He can feel a pinching sensations and touch in his legs which means the back of his spinal chord was not severed. The doctors see these sensations as encouraging. Most people are aware that Bruce has suffered from lower back pain. Currently he is not suffering from any back pain and we feel very blessed for that. As always he has a good outlook on life. Bruce's mom, Grandma Bezzant, says, "We're a day closer to feeling better." Now you know where Bruce gets his optimistic attitude! We are so blessed!
